"Being in touch with the natural world is crucial"

David Attenborough

Our Philosophy

We believe that people cannot care for what they do not know.

Our society has lost its connection to nature. This is even more true for marginalised communities.

We want all the people of Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas - regardless of barriers and backgrounds - to fall in love with nature. To see its beauty, its wonder, and its potential for rejuvenation. Everyone must play a part in the challenging task of bringing the human race back to living in harmony with nature, not destroying it in our relentless dash for growth.

As the King of Bhutan explained to one of Nottingham's most famous sons, Doug Scott (the first Brit to climb Mount Everest): 'Tomorrow's world cannot thrive by increasing Per Capita Gross Domestic Product.  We must increase Per Capita Gross Domestic Happiness.'

Group Visits

We are currently running a series of visits for groups/schools to come and enjoy the field, whilst learning about the environment. We will be dipping in the pond, foraging, building camp fires, searching for beasties and bugs and talking about the importance of wild spaces, not just for animals, but for us too!
